Banker of the Year Proclamation
Geoffrey Roepstorff, CEO of Edison National Bank/Bank of the Islands and Robbie Roepstorff, president of Edison National Bank/Bank of the Islands, have received a proclamation by the Lee County Board of Commissioners in recognition of being named “Bankers of the Year” by the Florida Bankers Association (FBA).
“We appreciate the support and recognition of the Lee County Board of Commissioners as this award is a direct reflection of Edison National Bank’s and Bank of the Islands’ commitment to serving Lee County,” said Robbie Roepstorff. “We share these accolades with our board of directors and staff members who consistently demonstrate high quality service and personal dedication to our customers and our community.”
Each year, the FBA’s Executive Committee selects a Banker of the Year who has given unselfishly of his or her time and effort to improve the Florida banking industry, as well as his or her community. This is the first time FBA has bestowed this statewide award on a couple, rather than an individual.
According to the FBA, the Banker of the Year is selected using the following criteria: an outstanding commitment of involvement and service in his/her community; a concern for the continued success of the banking industry; a dedication to convey the value of banking to the public; and a reputation for excellence and distinguished achievement within the banking industry.
“It is a privilege to honor Edison National Bank/Bank of the Islands and the Roepstorffs for their leadership and dedication to serving Lee County,” said Lee County District Five Commissioner Frank Mann “As recognized leaders in Florida’s banking industry, they are a positive reflection on the Lee County business community. We are fortunate to have banking professionals and a financial institution of this caliber in our own backyard.”
Geoffrey Roepstorff currently serves as a trustee for Lee County Electric Cooperative, and is an active member of the board of directors for several nonprofit charitable organizations such as Southwest Florida Addiction Services and The Clinic for the Rehabilitation of Wildlife (CROW).
Robbie Roepstorff is a trustee for Florida Gulf Coast University and serves on various nonprofit boards such as Florida Gulf Coast University, The Foundation of Lee County Public Schools, the Southwest Florida Community Foundation, Lee County Horizon Council Foundation and Lee County Industrial Development Authority. In addition, Robbie Roepstorff is the recipient of the Paulette Burton Lee County Citizen of the Year Award.
The couple also actively gives back to the community, providing financial support and leadership for a variety of causes including education, children’s welfare, wildlife and coastal habitat preservation, and supporting the arts in Lee County.
