Bank of the Islands partners with City and MOAA for Veterans Day
The Bank of the Islands was honored to once again partner with the City of Sanibel Recreation Department and the Lee Coast Chapter of the Military Officers Association of America (MOAA) for a very special Veterans Day event at City Hall.
Bank Vice President David Lowden joined MOAA Past Chapter President Fred Bondurant in making remarks and presentations to the four winners of the 2024 Veterans Day Essay Contest. Bank of the Islands annually underwrites the prize money given to the winning essay writers.
“It’s been our pleasure to play a part in underwriting this annual contest organized under Fred Bondurant’s leadership,” said Bank of the Islands President Robbie Roepstorff. “It’s so important to keep the service and sacrifice of our veterans in the hearts of young island citizens. This essay contest is just the perfect way to engage them in Veterans Day every year!”
The 2024 Veterans Day Essay Contest 1st Place winners are 7th grader Dylan Field, 7th grader Charles Harris, 8th grader John Harris, with Honorable Mention going to Elly Nguyen.
