Bank Sponsors Thanksgiving Celebration in Harlem Heights

The Heights Foundation is hosting a Celebration of Giving Thanks for families in Lee County’s Harlem Heights neighborhood, and Edison National Bank/Bank of the Islands is taking a lead role in sponsoring this longstanding non-profit’s mission-driven work.

Specifically, the Bank is once again underwriting the cost of turkeys for 300 families representing more than 1,000 Lee County residents of all ages. The centerpiece of the Celebration of Giving Thanks will be a shared meal, fun, and fellowship for more than 450 residents. It is being held on Saturday, November 22 at the Heights Center at 15570 Hagie Drive in Fort Myers. This year’s event will also mark the Heights Foundation’s 25th anniversary.

“Since its founding in 2000, The Heights Foundation has provided invaluable resources for our Harlem Heights neighbors,” said Bank President Robbie Roepstorff. “This latest sponsorship opportunity affords us the ability send families home from the Celebration of Giving Thanks with their own turkey to prepare for their family’s Thanksgiving dinner. These are challenging times for many of our neighbors in need, and we are honored to help them put nourishing food on their families’ tables.”

The Heights Foundation works to build strong, self-sufficient families in the Harlem Heights neighborhood. Their mission supports education and wellness, promotes family and community development, and provides the benefits of enrichment and the arts.
