Edison National Bank/Bank of the Islands introduces Touch ID security for mobile banking
FORT MYERS, Fla. (June 16, 2016) – Edison National Bank/Bank of the Islands is pleased to introduce a new Touch ID security feature for its iOS mobile banking app. Edison National Bank/Bank of the Islands is one of the first area banks to offer this feature. Through the implementation of Touch ID, Edison National Bank/Bank of the Islands customers can now quickly and easily see and use their account(s) using their unique fingerprint to authenticate. If users have Touch ID enabled on their compatible iOS device, they also can choose to utilize Touch ID to save their identity for quick login, which provides added security to the customers’ mobile banking experiences, as the user’s password is never saved on the device.
“Security is of highest priority within our bank, and we are pleased to be one of the first banks in the area to offer this feature to our customers,” said Robbie Roepstorff, president of Edison National Bank/Bank of the Islands. “Touch ID allows customers to access our mobile banking app with simply the touch of a finger, and this enhanced security feature not only increases the safety of our customers’ private information, it also creates a faster and easier banking experience.”
Edison National Bank/Bank of the Islands mobile banking enables bank customers to use their iPhone or iPad to initiate routine transactions anytime, from anywhere. Customers can view account balances and transaction history, view account alerts and pay bills. The security feature is currently offered for iOS mobile devices only, and is available for free download at Apple’s App Store. While Edison National Bank/Bank of the Islands also offers a mobile app for Android users, it does not support biometrics at this time. The Android mobile app is available for free download at the Google Play Store.
