Roepstorffs, Bank of the Islands Proud Supporters of Taste of the Islands
Bank of the Islands/Edison National Bank has returned as the Presenting Sponsor of the 37th Taste of the Islands, the signature fundraiser for the Clinic for the Rehabilitation of Wildlife (CROW)’s signature fundraiser.
Geoffrey and Robbie Roepstorff, who founded Bank of the Islands/Edison National Bank in 1997 have supported CROW throughout the bank’s history. This is the ninth year the bank has led the sponsorship.
“For five decades, CROW’s wildlife rehabilitation services have helped native and migratory birds and animals in Southwest Florida. This year’s red tide event has been especially hard on wildlife. We believe we have an obligation to support the communities we serve” says Geoffrey Roepstorff, CEO of Bank of the Islands/Edison National Bank and past Treasurer and member of CROW’s Board of Directors. “We invite you to join us, and CROW, to celebrate our great community at Taste of the Islands.”
The annual event will be on Sunday, November 11, from 12:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Sanibel Community Park, showcasing 13 Sanibel and Captiva restaurants:
- Blue Giraffe
- The Bubble Room
- The Clam Shack
- Doc Ford’s Rum Bar & Grille
- IL Cielo
- The Jac Island Bar & Grille
- Matzaluna
- Sandollar
- Sanibel Deli
- Sanibel Fish House
- Shima Japanese Steakhouse & Sushi Bar
- Thistle Lodge
- The Timbers Restaurant & Fish Market
“We have an amazing line-up of restaurants this year” says Linda Estep, Executive Director for CROW. “This is a great opportunity for the community to come together to support each other after being hit hard with the effects of red tide this summer.”
The restaurants will offer a mouth-watering array of menu items for six CROW Bucks or less while competing for honors in a variety of categories including “Best Appetizer”, “Best Seafood” and “Taste of the Taste”. Attendees of the Taste cast ballots to decide the winner of the coveted “People’s Choice” award. Admission to Taste of the Islands, which can be purchased online or at the event, is $7 for adults and free for children less than 12 years of age.
This year’s family friendly event also features live entertainment by Private Stock Band, and in the Sanibel Community House guests can meet CROW’s Animal Ambassadors and bid on Silent Auction items.
Event sponsors also include The Silverman Organization as Gold Sponsor, Jensen’s Marina, Dave and Jennifer Nichols, Suncoast Beverage, and Heidrick & Co. as Silver Sponsors, FOX 4 as Lead Media Sponsor, News Press as Lead Newspaper Sponsor and Coaste Magazine, Florida Weekly, and Times of the Islands Media as Supporting Media Sponsors.
